Welcome to the epicenter of high-energy event production! We’re proud to have recently hosted the Goodshuffle 2026 Warehouse Tour. The hosts, Howie T. Style and Kitty Wu, welcome the audience to the NYX warehouse, where the magic happens. What started as a small operation out of Howie’s house doing backyard parties when he was just 15 has evolved into an epic, full-scale production powerhouse. Originally starting as a New York-based DJ company, NYX has expanded into a one-stop shop with full audio, video, lighting, and premier decor offerings.

Creativity and innovation are the core values driving this team. To ensure clients always experience stunning, next-level entertainment, NYX rolls out new product offerings roughly every one to two quarters. Thanks to incredible operational efficiency led by production manager Christian Bonaparte and warehouse supervisor Trevan Morris, the team executes roughly 150 to 200 mesmerizing events a year out of a single, highly optimized space. Warehouse Layout & Organization 

When you’re the best DMV DJ and production team, organization is everything. NYX employs over twenty technicians to run our top-tier events. The warehouse layout is designed to be completely “idiot-proof.” If a technician sees an item, its operation and assembly must make perfect sense immediately. To keep inventory premium, Howie implements a strict two-year “wardrobe rule” during spring cleaning. If a piece of gear hasn’t been touched in two years, it gets removed.

The space is strategically divided to support our operations:

  • Video, Staging, and Lounge Furniture: Massive items like video walls are logically mapped on the main floor to easily move on and off trucks.
  • Fabrication Workshop: Located in the upper section, this area is for building custom materials and organizing audio cabling.
  • Lighting, Audio, and Photo Booths: The opposite side strictly houses lighting fixtures, audio gear, and equipment for our numerous photo booth bookings executed annually.

Staffing, Onboarding, and Elite Execution 

Producing unforgettable WOW Moments requires top-tier talent. Every two to three months, NYX hosts training workshops for their stagehands. They learn the full lifecycle of a product, including packing trucks, setting up, operating, and striking. By mastering new skills, technicians become more valuable to the team and increase their hourly rate.

Because elite event production requires weekend dedication, Howie actively recruits from Omega Studios, a local recording and production school. By offering high-paying part-time hours with massive growth opportunities, he secures passionate young professionals. When asked about hiring W2 employees over 1099 contractors, Howie emphasizes that his tech staff represents his forward-facing brand. His advice to business owners? “Know what you don’t know… whatever you don’t know, just be smart enough to hire someone who does.”

Testing new gear, like a cryo gun, isn’t an exact science. The team dials in the ideal settings and documents a strict bullet-point protocol sheet before training the staff. When navigating strict venue rules in the DMV area, professionalism is key. For instance when clients want to book cold sparklers, they ensure it’s cleared with the venue and fire marshal rules are strictly followed to protect the client and the venue.
